This deep dive retreat is for enneagram type sixes.
A glimpse of some of the territory to be explored in this 1-week journey:
|
Retreat setup and structure:
The group size for the main retreat will be kept at a maximum of 8 participants. The pre-retreat preparation includes at least two 1:1 sessions which will allow us to prepare for the main retreat, as well as provide you, as the participant, time to work through certain parts of your process outside of the group setting, in a way that is more specific and attuned to you alone.
The Weekend Workshop (Intro Phase, Sat- Sun):
The journey starts from the surface and from the more familiar enneagram of personality framework. We will be working with some of the auto-pilot and protection patterns that particularly strong in the type 6 space. The mirroring provided by fellow type 6s, will bring into view blind-spots and masks, as well as the inherent strengths, gifts, expression of caring, and sensitivities. Each person will gain a much deeper understanding of (and compassion for) themselves, with clarity and perspective that can bring healing and peace.
The weekend group will include also include participants that are just attending the weekend and not the main retreat. However, for the main retreat participants, this will be the time to settle in, warm up, to really hone in on what they need/want/are ready for, for the week ahead.
Main Retreat (Mon - Fri)
The main retreat group enters a deepening phase on Monday, stepping more fully, into the territory of the Enneagram of Presence. This will lead to a transition point, usually by Wednesday, that opens up more room to step even closer to the core (Thursday, Friday). The group process ends on Friday. The final Saturday and Sunday are for integration and the integration 1:1 work.
Bookings close: 15 Oct 2023.

Important Information
If you are planning to participate in either the weekend workshop or the main retreat, the following information is relevant for you.
General:
These workshops are designed to provide a very deliberate, focused space to deal with some tricky topics and difficult patterns. For you, as the participant, to take full advantage of the time, space and resources here, it will be helpful to plan ahead a little...
- If at all possible, rest before the workshop, so you come in fresh.
- Wherever you are setting up your space, ensure you have enough privacy. This is important, not just for yourself but also for other participants in the group.
- It is a good idea to have earphones available, should you need that. Both for privacy, as well as to have a better experience with sound should we be using multi-media.
- Have your snacks, water / juices / teas nearby, to keep up your energy and hydration during the sessions. Have your meals planned or ready in advance.
- The time will fly by, once we begin, so be prepared for that.
- After the workshop, in the week following, and allow yourself space to integrate the insights and shifts you experienced.
We will be using Zoom as our online interactive platform.
Where to find the zoom links for the workshop:
- Zoom meeting links will be included in the attached PDF available on completion of this booking.
- You can re-download that pdf from your account/orders page, at any time.
General guidelines and things to be aware of:
- All online sessions are interactive and participatory.
- Except for certain segments, all participants will be visible on video. This is necessary for group cohesion and flow of communication (non-verbal and verbal) within the limits of working in a virtual setup and not in a physical venue.
- It is recommended that one familiarize themselves with the basic platform (eg. zoom) before any event. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that they are set up comfortably on their side, with the physical (comfortable seating area, lighting, background) and technical setup (sound, mic, computer, internet signal and strength) , and ask for help timeously if there is any problem foreseen or being experienced. If need be, contact us, we will assist you or run a test call prior to any sessions.
- NB - the workshop will be recorded. For this particular workshop, it is not for replay purposes, but as a standing policy for us to identify gaps in the programme, attend to participant requests and feedback and to review for improvement and quality. These are accessible only to the programme director. (Please see FAQ section for more details on this, or feel free to enquire further.)
Internet signal strength:
- This is probably the single most important factor, please check if the venue you are using has a strong, consistent internet signal to allow a good connection on the zoom platform. If you are struggling during the workshop, please let us know so we can take that into consideration.
The nature of this type of work requires a certain code of conduct, by both the facilitators and the participants in any process. In general, the following is emphasised as key aspects to ensure a safe and supportive space that allows each person to to take full benefit from the programme.
- Attentiveness and respect for one's self, during the course of the day and the various types of interactions.
- Attentiveness and respect for others, during the course of the day and the various types of interactions.
- Respectfulness of one's own boundaries and the privacy and boundaries of others (eg. in what / how much to share of one's experiences if that becomes relevant).
- Confidentiality - If one is witness to another experience or story, that the confidentiality of that must be respected.
- If there is ever need for assistance in any way, to alert the us.
Low | Moderate | High | Very High | Extreme | |||||
This workshop is rated as moderate to high intensity levels.
This rating is a conglomerate assessment of a number of factors and the degree to which participants can be expected to draw on their resources. Some of these components include demand on time, need for privacy, need to step out of everyday routine, mental energy, emotional energy, physical energy, stamina, concentration, capacity to allow change, depths being accessed (from surface to very deep) and changes in levels of consciousness (shift from minimal to significant), blind-spots being accessed, the need for rest prior to the workshop and the need for rest and recovery after the workshop.
Each person is different and will experience things differently, depending as well on their state of being and energy levels at the time of the workshop. However, in general, this workshop will demand a fair degree of energy to get the full benefit from it.
The days will be a very saturated, and the time will go by very quickly. We will be concentrating into one weekend, what can take 2 weeks. Coming in prepared for this is helpful.
The added experience of the mirrored space with one's own type, has quite an impact. This is what we are hoping for, but it is also wise to bear this in mind in advance, so that you are prepared for the deep integrations you will be experiencing.
There are workshop guidelines (above), are also useful in preparing for the day or week.

Payment Related
The following payment gateways are available for debit / credit card payments.
- PayPal (processes amount in USD)
- PayFast (processes amount as ZAR)
- For South African Participants, an EFT option is available.
How to choose and where to change (currency, gateway options):
- The prices are set to USD by default, so PayPal will be the default gateway. (For those who wish to use their PayPal account, rather than their card, they can do so.)
- Sometimes one may prefer not to use PayPal (especially if it is enforcing paypal account setups, which may happen in certain regions). If this is the case, use the PayFast gateway instead.
- To use the PayFast gateway the currency must be switched to ZAR. This can be done on the checkout page (option is just below the checkout button at the bottom of the page). The equivalent ZAR amount will be displayed, and you can check out using your debit or credit card.
Firstly, greetings!
There are a few things to be aware of.
- On the checkout page, convert the currency to ZAR (below the [PROCEED TO CHECKOUT] button).
- This will give you the Rand value.
- This will also give you the option for EFT, if you do not want to go through PayFast.
Affordability Challenges:
The USD : ZAR exchange rate sometimes becomes quite steep. You have access to the Quantum Radiance Angel Fund, to supplement your fee. Please let us know on booking, what your affordability is, so that we can make the necessary arrangements on your behalf.
Questions that one may have, but not get around to asking...
Ironically, you will find yourself in good company, with the sympathy of others that share your experience of this. Group work is daunting and difficult for quite a few people.
Here is our recommendation, don't think about it too much. Wait till you are there, and then allow the process to guide you into a zone that's comfortable enough, regarding the group. The workshops are designed to take this into consideration.
Although participants are expected to interact and engage, we are also very alert and sensitive to each individual's readiness and boundaries and are always responsive and respectful of that. You can determine for yourself, how far you are able to go with yourself and with others.
Each individual is unique and takes in the experience differently. So if, at any time during the process, you are experiencing difficulty that is really interfering with your experience, just let us know and we will help you out.
On the encouraging side... even for those that are clear that group work is not their favourite thing, they do often pitch up anyway because they have found that the group energy and exposure often helps fast-track certain things. The mirroring, similar or different perspectives from others, glimpses into others' experiences of the same challenges... all this provides insights, break-through opportunites, clarity, opportunites for understanding and compassion. And perhaps, most importantly, a chance to recognise and remember again, that you are not alone on the journey.
And if all this is not enough to overcome the dread of group work, you still have the option to request a 1:1 workshop or programme for yourself.
Privacy for yourself in these workshops is crucial.
If you think the space you will be using will compromise your privacy, check the following:
Step 1: Really consider your options again.
- have you overlooked alternative venues?
- have explicitly asked your your family (or friends) for their support? (This is often side-stepped because it feels uncomfortable and too much to ask for. However, it may be a very necessary step for you in your own process, to be able to do that. Very often, they will volunteer to take themselves out for the day, or give you the room you need for the few hours of the programme. If you don't ask, you won't know.)
Step 2: Make the best of it.
- Only if you have really checked off step one.
- Let us know as well, that you are in such a position, so that we will take that into consideration during the workshop.
- Earphones are a must... this would be for the protection of the other participants. But also, to give you a way to block out some of the outside distractions.
- Position yourself in such a way that you are screened from people walking past. You may want to use a temporary screen of some sort to do that.
If it really is a situation where you cannot concentrate and others have some demand on your attention, it may not be a good idea to take on this programme. It will not be fair on yourself. However, if that really is the situation, please discuss with us, and perhaps together, we can come up with a workable solution or alternative.
For these type specific programmes, it is not advisable to attend unless you have some certainty of your type, and which programme is relevant to you. However, please do contact us and discuss your situation, so that we can advise you more specifically. There are, for example, some situations where - given enough time, your enneagram typing can be done and you can potentially qualify for the more specific programmes.
Unfortunately, this workshop does not include access to a replay.
Except in very particular circumstances, participants themselves are not permitted to record. Not only would that be a breach in trust for all concerned, but it is also usually unnecessary. These workshops are designed to be experiential. Unlike webinars and academic presentations, these workshops are to be relaxed into, so that information can be received naturally, via all domains of intelligence. It would not serve much purpose to have the full workshop replay. It is much more important to be fully present when there, and take in the experience in the moment, in such a way that it lasts.
As a standing policy, all workshops are reviewed by the programme director and authorised QR team, to assess outcome and quality, to plan for improvements and future programmes, to address requests and feedback from participants. Review of workshops, with the help of the recordings, is essential to this process.
NB -- All recordings are strictly managed by the programme director, who is the only one who has access. Recordings are saved directly onto a local hard-drive, in a secure system. If included as part of any programme, replay material provided is carefully edited to maintain participant confidentiality, and access to any replays are restricted to authorised participants only, within the parameters of the programme they are participating in.
Surprisingly, the virtual-online platform can also provide a depth of experience that is rich and fulfilling. Obviously, the experience is not the same, as it would be in an in-person setting, and one can miss experience of being in a venue with others. However, we have found from experience and feedback from participants, that they have often been surprised at how deep their experiences are, and the level of connection and support with the facilitators and the group. Interestingly, the lack of physical venue helps one focus on the "energetic venue" that everyone is experiencing.
If this is your first experience with a Quantum Radiance online workshop, come and try it for yourself. We would welcome your feedback on this point.
