The focus of this week's programme (11 - 17 March 2023) is on how we fall asleep within the pattern of being accommodating, the consequences of that, the reasons behind that, the necessity of breaking out of the sleepwalking state within that, and how to engage the pattern in a healthy, awake manner, from a state of presence.
We start the journey by determining what is really meant by the terms used, defining the use of the word in the human social, cultural, psychological and physical contexts. We look at what is normal and healthy, and what the value of that is. The exploration will move to how individuals are using this pattern as a way to compensate or defend against something else, and if we are asleep to that - the misunderstandings, injuries and pain that is caused.
The goal of this week is to provide more perspective , clarity and resource for each participant, so that they may have more room to consciously navigate life-situations with or without the strategy of being accommodating, from a place of greater presence, aware of the impact of their presence.

Important Information
General:
These workshops are designed to provide a very deliberate, focused space to deal with some tricky topics and difficult patterns. For you, as the participant, to take full advantage of the time, space and resources here, it will be helpful to plan ahead a little...
- If at all possible, rest before the workshop, so you come in fresh.
- Wherever you are setting up your space, ensure you have enough privacy. This is important, not just for yourself but also for other participants in the group.
- It is a good idea to have earphones available, should you need that. Both for privacy, as well as to have a better experience with sound should we be using multi-media.
- Have you snacks, water / juices / teas nearby, to keep up your energy and hydration during the sessions. Have your meals planned or ready in advance.
- The time will fly by, once we begin, so be prepared for that.
- After the workshop, in the week following, and allow yourself space to integrate the insights and shifts you experienced.
We will be using Zoom as our online interactive platform.
Where to find the zoom links for the workshop:
- Zoom meeting links will be included in the attached PDF available on completion of this booking.
- One can re-download that pdf from your account/orders page, at any time.
General guidelines and things to be aware of:
- All online sessions are interactive and participatory.
- Except for certain segments, all participants will be visible on video.
- It is recommended that one familiarize themselves with the basic platform (eg. zoom) before any event. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that they are set up comfortably on their side, with the physical (comfortable seating area, lighting, background) and technical setup (sound, mic, computer, internet signal and strength) , and ask for help timeously if there is any problem foreseen or being experienced. If need be, contact us, we will assist you or run a test call prior to any sessions.
- NB - the workshop will be recorded, to allow us to prepare the post-workshop review module. (This will include selected replays from the workshop, an overview of the key perspectives and insights covered in the workshop, as well as additional material that we were not able to include due to time constraints.)
The nature of this type of work requires a certain code of conduct, by both the facilitators and the participants in any process. In general, the following is emphasised as key aspects to ensure a safe and supportive space that allows each person to to take full benefit from the programme.
- Attentiveness and respect for one's self, during the course of the day and the various types of interactions.
- Attentiveness and respect for others, during the course of the day and the various types of interactions.
- Respectfulness of one's own boundaries and the privacy and boundaries of others (eg. in what / how much to share of one's experiences if that becomes relevant).
- Confidentiality - If one is witness to another experience or story, that the confidentiality of that must be respected.
- If there is ever need for assistance in any way, to alert the us.
Low | Moderate | High | Very High | Extreme | |||||
This workshop is rated as moderate to moderate high intensity levels.
This rating is a conglomerate assessment of a number of factors and the degree to which participants can be expected to draw on their resources. Some of these components include demand on time, need for privacy, need to step out of everyday routine, mental energy, emotional energy, physical energy, stamina, concentration, capacity to allow change, depths being accessed (from surface to very deep) and changes in levels of consciousness (shift from minimal to significant), the need for rest before the workshop and the need for rest and recovery after the workshop.
Each person is different and will experience things differently, depending as well on their state of being and energy levels at the time of the workshop. However, in general, this workshop will demand a fair degree of energy to get the full benefit from it.
Not only is this programme designed for type nines, it is also created by and facilitators by type nines.
The co-facilitators and supporting team are all type 9 teachers in their own right, who are also graduates of the pioneer Giants Awakening programme (2020-2021). The Giants Awakening programme was the original "type 9 only" journey into presence, a high intensity 9-month programme created and facilitated by JG. One of the outcomes of this, was to put in place other opportunities for fellow type 9s. This Slumbering Giants Series, exploring autopilot patterns, is one such opportunity, to provide focused, more bite sized experiences (outside of the next Giants Awakening journey (2024)).
The choice of supporting team and co-facilitators is very exact, with a requirement for a high degree of presence from each one. The team at hand will be providing not just expertise but a very particular energy through their presence that will enable and support the purpose of these workshops and the processes involved.
For any type 9s participating in these programmes, they will have the experience of the the mirroring and amplification of the 9-energy in the group, which allows one to become aware of aspects that are otherwise very difficult to see and engage with. There are things that can only be understood and seen from inside of the 9 space.
There is also a phenomenon which type 9s need to always consider: the significant influence of any other type's energy on their own, making it difficult for them to stay attuned to their own process and experience. In a mixed group (ie, with other types present) this is often a challenge for a type 9 individual. The Sunday programme is a 9-only space, and will be of great benefit to the type 9 participant.
All this, together with insights and perspectives from the type 9 teachers, provides a type 9 participant with an invaluable opportunity to really engage with themselves in a safe, supportive, truly understanding resonant space that is hard to come by in normal circumstances.
The Core Team that will be supporting you: Include co-facilitators and teachers: Teresa Daniels, Miriam Hollings, and programme director: Janeshree Govindasamy
A post workshop supplementary resource, to reinforce, review, revist and integrate the workshop experience...
Overview:
This additional resource can be used to supplement the live workshop and group work. Participants can review key themes, insights and perspectives that will be covered in the workshop, revisit selected replay segments from workshop, as well as additional material that we were not able to include in the live-workshop due to time constraints. Participants have 4 months access to Perspective on Autopilot Accommodation DIY component, on completion of the 1 week workshop programme.
Workshop replay:
This is not a replay of the full workshop. Only selected segments will be included, mainly from the teaching segments or discussion with the teachers, that does not include active participants interaction. (This is, amongst other reasons, to protect the confidentiality of the participants in the live workshop.)
Additional Content:
The module will provide additional content that was not included or covered in the live workshop, due to time and timing considerations.
These workshops are designed to be hands on and experiential, with a priority on providing space and time to process information and shifts in a way that is deeper than surface level mental engagement. At a later time, once that has integrated to an extent, to revisit and reinforce the information, insights and perspectives, is very useful
This module also includes:
- Interviews and discussions that were recorded for this course, but not included in the live-workshop.
- A section addressing perspectives, insights, requests and questions, that may have come up during the live-workshop.
- Review and refresher of some exercises used during the workshop.
Stand-Alone Option
This Perspective on Autopilot Autonomy DIY module is also available for anyone those who were not able to attend the live-workshop. Obviously, it is not a replacement for the live-workshop and one will not have the momentum and power that group work provides to efficiently tackle the task at hand in the shortest time, or the real-time support of the teachers, or the safety zone created for the workshop. Further, it will not provide the type 9-specific experience. However, it will allow one to engage with the topic on their own, in a fairly comprehensive manner, at one's own time and pace.
For participants who have experienced the live workshop and are accessing this as a supplemental resource, this module serves a very different purpose and brings different value, than anyone accessing this as a stand-alone option.
How to use:
This is resource is to help reinforce, integrate, review and supplement the live-workshop experience. You can determine for yourself, how to engage with this, what pace and style suits you. It will be designed in a way that you can pick and choose between the different components, or work through it systematically as you would go through a course. Discussions and interviews can be listened to as you would a podcast. This is really the DIY segment, so you can approach this in any way you choose.
Terms and Conditions:
This module will be available only via login access, on this website. The material provided in this module is for your own use only, and not to be shared in any way with anyone else. As with all QR programmes, the code of conduct and ethical guidelines for participants, applies here too. This programme includes 4 months access to this module, after it is released.
Release Date: TBA (usually 2-4 weeks after the live workshop)

Payment Related
The following payment gateways are available for debit / credit card payments.
- PayPal (processes amount in USD)
- PayFast (processes amount as ZAR)
- For South African Participants, an EFT option is available.
How to choose and where to change (currency, gateway options):
- The prices are set to USD by default, so PayPal will be the default gateway. (For those who wish to use their PayPal account, rather than their card, they can do so.)
- Sometimes one may prefer not to use PayPal (especially if it is enforcing paypal account setups, which may happen in certain regions). If this is the case, use the PayFast gateway instead.
- To use the PayFast gateway the currency must be switched to ZAR. This can be done on the checkout page (option is just below the checkout button at the bottom of the page). The equivalent ZAR amount will be displayed, and you can check out using your debit or credit card.
Firstly, greetings!
There are a few things to be aware of.
- The USD : ZAR exchange rate sometimes becomes quite steep. So please do use the Quantum Radiance Angel Fund to reduce the fee to a comfortable amount.
- On the checkout page, convert the currency to ZAR (below the [PROCEED TO CHECKOUT] button).
- This will give you the Rand value.
- This will also give you the option for EFT, if you do not want to go through PayFast.
Affordability Challenges:
If the pricing is still difficult to cover, even with the Angel Fund options available on this booking page, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will try our best to accommodate you, and make sure you can attend if it as all possible.
Questions that one may have, but not get around to asking...
Ironically, you will find yourself in good company, with the sympathy of others that share your experience of this. Group work is daunting and difficult for quite a few people.
Here is our recommendation, don't think about it too much. Wait till you are there, and then allow the process to guide you into a zone that's comfortable enough, regarding the group. The workshops are designed to take this into consideration.
Although participants are expected to interact and engage, we are also very alert and sensitive to each individual's readiness and boundaries and are always responsive and respectful of that. You can determine for yourself, how far you are able to go with yourself and with others.
Each individual is unique and takes in the experience differently. So if, at any time during the process, you are experiencing difficulty that is really interfering with your experience, just let us know and we will help you out.
On the encouraging side... even for those that are clear that group work is not their favourite thing, they do often pitch up anyway because they have found that the group energy and exposure often helps fast-track certain things. The mirroring, similar or different perspectives from others, glimpses into others' experiences of the same challenges... all this provides insights, break-through opportunites, clarity, opportunites for understanding and compassion. And perhaps, most importantly, a chance to recognise and remember again, that you are not alone on the journey.
And if all this is not enough to overcome the dread of group work, you still have the option of the stand-alone DIY self-study module, on this topic. And / or the option to request a 1:1 workshop or programme for yourself.
Privacy for yourself in these workshops is crucial.
If you think the space you will be using will compromise your privacy, check the following:
Step 1: Really consider your options again.
- have you overlooked alternative venues?
- have explicitly asked your your family (or friends) for their support? (This is often side-stepped because it feels uncomfortable and too much to ask for. However, it may be a very necessary step for you in your own progress, to be able to do that. Very often, they will volunteer to take themselves out for the day, or give you the room you need for the few hours of the programme. If you don't ask, you won't know.)
Step 2: Make the best of it.
- Only if you have really checked off step one.
- Let us know as well, that you are in such a position, so that we will take that into consideration during the workshop.
- Earphones are a must... this would be for the protection of the other participants. But also, to give you a way to block out some of the outside distractions.
- Position yourself in such a way that you are screened from people walking past. You may want to use a temporary screen of some sort to do that.
If it really is a situation where you cannot concentrate and others have some demand on your attention, it may not be a good idea to take on this programme. It will not be fair on yourself. However, if that really is the situation, please discuss with us, and perhaps together, we can come up with a workable solution or alternative.
Yes, you can attend the Saturday workshop. On this day we will be exploring the topic from a broader perspective that is relevant to everyone, even if they are uncertain of their enneagram type or unfamiliar with the enneagram framework.
The more type specific programmes however, may be unsuitable for you. However, please do contact us and discuss your situation, so that we can advise you more specifically. There are, for example, some situations where - given enough time, your enneagram typing can be done and you can potentially qualify for the more specific programmes.
You will have access to the replay of certain segments of the workshop, via the review module that is included in this programme. This will, however, not be a full replay of the workshop. However, not to worry, whatever else one may feel the need to review, will be provided in the supplementary post workshop review module.
The segments that are made available for replay are usually teaching segments or discussions with the teachers, that does not include participant interaction. The careful editing prior to release is to protect the privacy of the participants.
Except in very particular circumstances, participants themselves are not permitted to record. Not only would that be a breach in trust for all concerned, but it is also usually unnecessary. These workshops are designed to be experiential. Unlike webinars and academic presentations, these workshops are to be relaxed into, so that information can be received naturally, via all domains of intelligence. It would not serve much purpose to have the full workshop replay. It is much more important to be fully present when there, and take in the experience in the moment, in such a way that it lasts.
As a standing policy, all workshops are reviewed by the programme director and authorised QR team, to assess outcome and quality, to plan for improvements and future programmes, to address requests and feedback from participants. The workshop recording essential to this process.
Over and above this general reason, specifically in relation to this workshop, recordings will be used to:
- make available selected replay segments for inclusion in post-workshop review module
- revisit participant comments and feedback that may have come up, to address either with them personally or to include discussion of these in the the supplementary post-workshop module
- summarise key themes and perspectives that were covered in the workshop
- to identify potential gaps in the workshop (eg. due to time constraints), that can be covered or addressed in the supplementary module
NB -- All recordings are strictly managed by the programme director, who is the only one who has access. Recordings are saved directly onto a local hard-drive, in a secure system. Any replay material provided is carefully edited to maintain participant confidentiality, and access to any replays are restricted to authorised participants only, within the parameters of the programme they are participating in.
Surprisingly, the virtual-online platform can also provide a depth of experience that is rich and fulfilling. Obviously, the experience is not the same, as it would be in an in-person setting, and one can miss experience of being in a venue with others. However, we have found from experience and feedback from participants, that they have often been surprised at how deep their experiences are, and the level of connection and support with the facilitators and the group. Interestingly, the lack of physical venue helps one focus on the "energetic venue" that everyone is experiencing.
If this is your first experience with a Quantum Radiance online workshop, come and try it for yourself. We would welcome your feedback on this point.
